Toxic Shock Syndrome creates music best characterized as a mix between epic industrial, electro, and psy-trance, fueled by dark, powerful rhythms, epic melodies, and aggressive vocals.

The project was founded as a solo act in 1999 by John Mortimer. In 2001, Toxic Shock Syndrome was enhanced further with the addition of visual artist Lee Henderson. Lee's visual art manifests itself through album graphics, as well Lee produces the backing videos that are played during Toxic Shock Syndrome's live performances. A recent addition to the live line up is Mark Selanders who provides backing keyboards and soundscapes.

John is currently in the process of completing another release and the finishing touches are being done on a live video.
